Prasanna Lal Das is a Washington DC based data and digital policy/regulations specialist. He currently works on digital development issues with governments, international organizations, and the private sector in Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Prior to starting as an independent consultant, Prasanna worked for almost 20 years at the World Bank in Washington DC where he spearheaded numerous global digital initiatives. He founded the World Bank's Open Finances program, led the development of the Data 360 program, pioneered early work on a Data Fund and a Data Collaborative, and led early pilots on (then) emerging technologies such as Internet of Things, Blockchain, and Artificial Intelligence. He also contributed to several of the World Bank's earliest publications on digital development.

Prasanna's current focus areas include sustainable digital development, inclusive data policy/regulations, digital harms and risks, social protection, and emerging technologies. He continues to write and speak regularly on digital economy and society.
